At Precious Printing, we specialize in creating custom announcements using your photo. All orders include the announcement, ribbon,
envelopes. The following are answers to our most commonly asked questions.
How do I order?
We want the order process to be simple for you. If you feel confused or intimidated by order forms, just send us an email outlining
what you would like. We will contact you and submit an order for you.
To get an order form, you can request an order form to be mailed to you, or you can fill out an online order form. The online order
form is displayed while looking at the announcement that you would like to order. Regardless of how your order is submitted, we will
send you an e-mail outlining your order and asking you to confirm the accuracy of the information, style, colors, etc. After completing
the order form, you can pay with a credit card or you can mail us your payment, by check or money order. Your photo can be submitted
by e-mail or you can mail your photo to us.
How long does it take to complete my order?
Once we receive your order, it takes 2-4 business days (M-F) to produce your announcement. If you want to proof your announcement it
usually adds 1 day, depending on how quickly you respond. Your announcements are then shipped Standard UPS. This takes 2-5 business
days. At busy times of the year it may take longer. If you would like to pay extra, it can be shipped 2 day or overnight.
Can I proof my announcement?
Yes, for a fee of $5 we will print and assemble one announcement, then scan an image of it for you to check. This will be sent to you
attached to an e-mail. You may request minor changes, correct information, or adjust the layout. If you would like to change to a
different photo, there is a $20 photo set-up charge. There is no charge for changing paper colors or ribbon colors or types.
Can I send a digital photo?
Yes. However, it needs to be a high quality photo to get great printing results. If you are taking a photo with a digital camera,
make sure the camera is set to the highest resolution setting. If you are scanning the photo, please scan at 300-600 dpi. Please
send digital photo's in JPEG format. Email the photo to Info@preciousprinting.com with the name on the order in the subject line.
Can you print a color announcement?
No. We specialize in black and white printing.
What makes a good picture?
The best photos are color prints, glossy finish, SHARP focus, and the person(s) in pastel colored clothing.
Dark backgrounds or white clothing on a white background are difficult combinations to work with. Glossy finish is preferable to a
matte finish but is not a must. If more than one person is in the picture, their faces need to be close together, especially if it
is a birth announcement. For a birth announcement with siblings, make sure the baby's face is not covered with their hands or the
blanket. You can send us several photos to choose from and we will contact you and let you know which one we think will work the
best. Keep in mind that we crop the photo, touch up if needed, blend the background, and other finishing features. Color photos are
the best to work with, but black and white or sepia will work as well. We return the photo with your announcement order. If you do
not want to send the original photo, make a color copy and send it. DO NOT paper clip your photo to the order.
What if my picture is very old?
If you are ordering Anniversary announcements you usually have very few photo choices. We can work with older pictures. If the
cracks and scratches are reasonably small, they can be touched up. If you don't want to send your original photo, make a color
copy of the photo and send it.
Do I get my photo back?
Yes. When we send your announcements, we will return your photo.
What if I have twins, triplets, etc?
You can take a photo of the babies together to keep the pricing the same, or we can use photos of each baby and display them
separately on the announcement. For each additional photo add $20 to your final cost.
Do you accept Credit Cards?
Yes. MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.
Can I order my envelopes early?
Yes. Envelopes can be ordered in advance for addressing at your convenience. Send an order form, or order online. Indicate
quantity, style, color, and font. Send $15 - $5 for shipping and $10 will apply to your final order. We will send you your
envelopes to address at your leisure while you wait for the big day!
How many lines or words can I have on my announcement?
We do not have a limit to the wording of your announcement or invitation. We want it to be uniquely yours. We will adjust layout
and font size to accommodate the wording you would like. If we feel that the wording is too extensive we will contact you and let
you make an adjustment.
